Annual Buffaloe Lanes Junior Gold Program

Standard Requirements for Team Membership

To become a member of the Buffaloe Lanes Junior Gold Team the requirements are:

1.) As a gentlemen; you should average 170 or above with 21 games bowled in a Buffaloe Lanes Youth League. This includes the previous year or the current year.

2.) As a lady; you should average 150 or above with 21 games bowled in a Buffaloe Lanes Youth League. This includes the previous year or the current year.

3.) The U12 Division requires that ladies and gentlemen average 140 or above with 21 games bowling in a Buffaloe Lanes Youth League. This includes the previous year or the current year.

4.) Good standing and character

Standard Requirements for participation in Buffaloe Lanes Junior Gold Tournaments:

All items above that correspond with being a Buffaloe Lanes Junior Gold Member. The registration fee for the National program is $ 30.00 for ages 13-20. The U12 registration is $10.

Collegiate Bowlers & High School Graduates:

The Collegiate attendee is not required to be in a Buffaloe Lanes Youth program league currently. Bowler’s that have graduated high school but do not attend college are required to participate in a Buffaloe Lanes Youth program league. (All collegiate and graduates should be a past member of the Buffaloe Lanes Junior Gold Team or a Buffaloe Lanes Youth League.)As far as the premier spots and premier money is concerned, the bowler has to be a past member in good standing with the Buffaloe Lanes Junior Gold program. To be eligible for the premier spot the bowler has to participate in 2 practices before the premier tournament and they must participate in all fundraising activities. If a bowler wins a premier spot and does not participate in all fundraising activities, the premier spot will be forfeited. If these requirements are met; then the bowler is eligible for the premier spots and monies.

Purpose:

(1) To reward high end youth bowlers with a prestigious status and setting a goal for younger or lesser talented bowlers.

(2) To give proper support, practice time and encouragement to youth bowlers

(3) To attract new bowlers to our youth program

Cost:

Buffaloe Lanes Junior Gold Program Only - $50

Annual National USBC Junior Gold Membership - $30 (optional)

Practice Card - $10 (optional - Practice per game price of $1.25 per game. No Valid Friday & Saturday after 6pm)

Team Selection:

Each Team is selected in August based on the previous year's averages. Once selected a member remains on the team for the season even if their average dips below the required average.

Buffaloe Lanes Junior Gold Program

Practice:

In preparation for upcoming tournaments, practice sessions are scheduled with various sport patterns. Certified team coaches, as well as, certified house assistants will be available to help with adjustments. A schedule of practice dates is available on-line. Other days and practice times will be made available as the season progresses. Please click on the calendar to the left to see any practices.

Support:

Each member will receive information about upcoming tournaments and events. This will include pricing, travel and lodging details if needed. Along with this information, the bowler's progress will be tracked and recorded to provide support at the home center. Attention will be given to maximize each bowler's potential qualifying for the USBC National Junior Gold Event.

Fundraising Potential:

To encourage as much participation in the USBC National Junior Gold Event, the team members will be able to utilize the bowling center for at least 2 fundraising events during the bowling season in order to procure funds for the Buffaloe Lanes Junior Gold Team. The details for the fundraising will be left up to the team members, coaches and the center's management.

Coaching and Leadership:

During the season, each team member will have the opportunity to help with the coaching and leadership of the center's youth. Each member will be encouraged to take an active part in the planning and implementing of the youth program. Each team member will be encouraged to help with special workshops given during the year for the benefit of fellow youth members not on the team.

Scholarships:

Various scholarship offers from the local association, state association and national association are available using the SMART Program. Team participation may allow individuals a greater chance of nomination for certain scholarships based on coaches recommendations.
